IP Portfolios Management
We collaborate closely with our client's management, in-house legal counsel, marketing, and technical personnel to develop IP portfolios that align with their business objectives. As an additional or stand-alone service, we offer a secure web-based system to record your IP portfolio, accessible anytime, anywhere.
IP Audit
We can conduct a thorough analysis of your intellectual property (IP). Based on our findings, we will create a detailed report that lists all your IP, suggests how to fix any issues, and reduces the chances of legal problems with others' IP. We will also provide advice on how to handle your IP better, such as licensing your technology to others, selling less useful (marginal) IP or even abandoning some to reduce costs, or buying additional IP to make your portfolio stronger and more comprehensive.
Our comprehensive IP audit involved a series of detailed evaluations and actions to protect and optimize the management of our clients’ IP rights including:
- We reviewed contracts with employees, consultants, vendors, and customers to ensure these agreements adequately protect our clients' IP, including aspects such as non-compete and technology licensing agreements.
- We conducted interviews with key managers and technical staff to identify the existing IP held by the company, such as know-how, trade secrets, and patents, and assessed the extent of potentially harmful disclosures of IP information.
- We investigated the company's operations to pinpoint risks of infringing third-party rights and evaluated company policies on IP management, including how well staff understood and adhered to these policies.
- We examined our clients’ trademarks to check if they are properly protected and if our clients have respected the trademark rights of other businesses when engaging in joint ventures or co-branding efforts to ensure that our clients are legally secure and not infringing on the rights of others while using or sharing brands.
IP Awareness
To enhance the understanding of IP among your research team leaders and staff, we offer customized seminars and workshops. These sessions are designed to increase awareness of technical IP issues and help participants identify IP that can be legally protected. The seminars typically last one to two hours, while the workshops can be half-day or full-day events and are highly interactive. These sessions may be held once a quarter or adjusted to occur more or less frequently, based on our clients' needs.
IP Policies and Procedures
We can help develop policies and procedures to effectively manage the identification, documentation, and protection of technical intellectual property (IP) within your company.
We can assist in creating invention disclosure forms for your technical staff to record new ideas, establishing clear guidelines for processing these forms, determining who has the authority to make decisions on IP protection, and defining the rights and compensation of inventors or creators. These measures are designed to secure and maximize the value of the company's IP assets, ensuring they are legally protected and effectively utilized.
